The University of Akron Keith Dambrot Basketball Camps are for boys and girls of all ages offering skilled instruction and leadership from players and coaches alike.
Under the direction of eighth year head coach Keith Dambrot and a premier college coaching staff, the Akron Basketball Camps exhibit Coach Dambrot's emphasis on fundamentals, defense and hard work as the major components of being a great basketball player.
A two-time Mid-American Conference Tournament winner and NCAA Tournament participant, along with being one of only 17 Division I schools with 20 or more wins during the last seven seasons, Coach Dambrot is regarded as one of the best teachers and leaders in the sport.
Participants in the Akron Basketball Camps benefit from a wealth of experienced instructors. Coach Dambrot's coaching staff serves as the perfect complement to his leadershi,p as all three assistant coaches were successful players under his guidance. Participants gain first-hand insight and training from the coaches who know what it takes to improve and develop, on and off the court.
Each four-day session is crammed with the type of hands-on teaching that can make a difference in your game and have an impact on your life. From beginning to end, campers are exposed to a high level of instruction and motivation that will assist both beginners and experienced players alike.
Zips Basketball School
The Zips Basketball School will hold two sessions for boys and girls ages 6-17. The program will go over team concepts and attitude, motivational strategies, basic fundamentals, defensive concepts, conditioning technique, shooting instruction, goal setting strategies, rebounding skill development and total play development. Offensive Skill Camp
The Offensive Skills Camp is for boys and girls from grades 3-12. Each player will have detailed instruction, film analysis, shooting instruction and Division I college basketball practice each day. There will be three sessions by grade level, with 30 spots open per session with an emphasis on offensive skill.
